When we ran our first summer camp for teens – July 2016 – we didn’t know it would be such a great success!

We replicated it in July 2017 and the kids were enthusiastic! They all got something really valuable out of it and hopefully….they’ll be working in the Media soon!

Summer Camp

Find out if a career in media is for you! Join our exciting Media Summer Camp at UCD and enter the worlds of PR, Radio, Television, Journalism and Event Management. This camp will build your confidence in front of the camera and the microphone. It will teach you new skills. You will make new friends. You will learn lots about the media business – and most importantly, it will be fun!

DAY ONE – PUBLIC RELATIONS

What is PR?-PR Photography – Crisis Management

DAY TWO – JOURNALISM

What is Journalism?-How to write a news story – Research and Interviewing skills

DAY THREE -EVENT MANAGEMENT

What is Event Management? – Organising an event – Working with celebrities, food/drink/invitations/venues

DAY FOUR – RADIO

In the Radio Studio all day reading the news, recording vox-pops and radio DJ music intros and link pieces.

DAY FIVE – TELEVISION

All day in front of the camera recording a piece to camera (PTC) and conducting a one-to-one interview.

Duration: We send you a text module each week, which is enhanced with specially created audio and video files. You’ll be able to complete your course in 15 weeks.
